Bongo Willie

Bongo Willie, Demme and I
jamming on Main Street

We love Bongo Willie! The first time we ever met Bongo Willie
we were at the Earth Day Festival at Riverfront Park earlier this
year. He was really the highlight of the day for us. If you have ever
seen Bongo Willie then you know him because if you walk up a stranger
you don't leave as one. He really is a all around cool guy who just loves
music and everyone who will play with him. His box of crazy music
makers is not anything that you would expect. (That is me playing
a pair of flip flop shoes on some pipes in the picture above). I think
my favorite instrument is the spoons because I played with them
so long that my hand was hurting. You can catch Bongo Willie on
some Saturdays at the market when he not jamming somewhere
else or you can catch him at his website http://bongowillie.com/
Thanks Bongo Willie for finding the hidden rythym in all of us.

Katy Bob Designs

Carry all purses made from recycled fabric

One of a kind Katy collars

Suzie striking a pose in her new Katy collar

Katy Bob Designs is a regular vendor at the Market. Her booth includes pillows made from old t-shirts (she also takes custom orders in case your favorite old t is worn out), small over the shoulder bags and huge carry all bags. My personal favorite is her one of a kind Katy Collars.
They come in assorted sizes and colors and are cute as they can be. Katrina Kelso is the mastermind behind Katy Bob Designs and she even has a water bowl for all the many dogs that come thru the market, and special doggy treats. Any fellow dog lover is a friend of mine. Katy Bob design is also a fellow recycler as she uses recycled fabrics for her designs.

Concrete Art by Jerry Klingbeil

Fabulous Finds

Every tree needs some personality
Jerry Klingbeil is another regular vendor at the market. He has a unique talent
making art from concrete. We love this, and so does everyone else.
His pieces are very popular at the market. He also does custom orders,
stepping stones, benches and alot of other things. Take a look at his
book of pictures and you will be amazed. I have ordered 2 original
crosses ( one for me and one for a gift) to pick up next Saturday,
and a got a small bird to hang outside my door.
You can also pick up some very unique jewelry from his wife Carol
(love her) thats her frog necklace from an earlier post. We are
very happy to have them as regulars at the market.

This week at the Market

Clay Creations you'll find at Chris Massingill's booth

This week at the market clay artist Chris Massingill gave the kids a lesson in clay.

They had alot of fun. It all began with push pots and went to some creative creations. Chris is a regular vendor at the market and has some fabulous stuff. Oh and we learned this week how much patience she has with children. Alot.

More fun with clay

Independence Day

Fabulous Finds

Cyndi's hand dyed silk scarfs

Carol's feeling froggy necklace

Welcome to the Art Market Blog. This is a new adventure for me so bear with me and hopefully I will develop some hidden writings skills that are buried within. What a great day we had in Argenta on the 4th of July. The Foodie Festival was a big success with alot of good food and music. It even had my daughter hula hooping in front of the band. It was definitely a day of smiles for everyone. We had a super market with alot of vendors and shoppers.

I have purchased a new camera and plan on posting a fabulous find of the week, showcasing new vendors and anything else exciting that's happening at the market. Oh, and let me apologize now for any grammatical errors that I will make now and in the future. thank you
